What is IdCloud Authentication?

IdCloud Authentication is the short name for Thales Digital Banking Identity Cloud Authentication. It is a comprehensive service offer that provides several layers of security to protect online and mobile banking services.

Traditionally these security services were implemented and managed by banks in-house, but over the last few years a growing number of financial institutions have shown interest in moving some of their services and IT infrastructure to the Cloud, in search of greater agility when deploying their customer-oriented services, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Once IdCloud Authentication is integrated into your Back-end system, your users can use it to perform the following scenarios:

Scenario Description
Mobile Enrollment for OATH Enroll a user’s device (OATH only) so it can generate an OTP.
Mobile Enrollment for OATH + Out Of Band Enroll a user’s device (OATH and Out of Band) so it can generate an OTP and use Out of Band Channels for authentication.
In Band OATH Authentication Authenticate a user.
Offline OATH Authentication Authenticate a user (manually enter OTP).
Out Of Band OATH Authentication Authenticate a user out of band.
In Band OATH Challenge-Response Authenticate a user using the challenge-response mechanism, rather than a simple OTP.
